Three indicted for trafficking between Chicago and Terre Haute

A Chicago man and two residents of out-of-state currently face charges of drug trafficking and distribution. They are alleged to have been trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine between Chicago and across Illinois state lines.

Federal prosecutors reportedly worked in conjunction with several other agencies according to U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett. It was this joint effort that seems to have assisted in the indictment of the Chicagoan following those of the other individuals charged.

If convicted of the alleged crimes, the man from Chicago could be looking at the possibility of 40 years in prison and a total of $5 million in fines. The two residents from out-of-state may be facing even worse outcomes as both have quite large criminal histories. Their background may play a factor into them facing the possibility of life sentences if convicted.

According to federal prosecutors, the man from Chicago is being charged with two counts of distributing. The two from out-of-state are both being charged with conspiring to distribute meth and distributing meth. One of those from Out-of-state is also facing two counts of unlawfully possessing a firearm as a violent felon.

It is not yet known how the events leading up to the arrests and indictments were conducted or how all of the evidence was collected and handled. These are important details that must be pored over in the coming weeks as both the defense and prosecution build their cases.

The outcomes in these cases can be dire, and it is therefore imperative when faced with drug related crimes that one have an experienced and trustworthy defense attorney representing the individual charged with the crime.
