Chicago police raid ends with man charged for drug possession

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after police raided his apartment. He was charged for drug possession on three counts, one of which was a felony. Reportedly, the man was using his apartment to cook up a large amount of drug-laced edibles that would cure any sweet tooth and more.

The police officers of the Chicago Police Narcotics Division reportedly confiscated nearly 6,000 grams of THC edibles and Kush-Cannabis. They retrieved one gram of MDMA and between 100 and 200 grams of mushrooms. In addition, they retrieved thousands of dollars in bills and drug-related equipment. If these drugs were sold on the street, one would be able to get roughly $180,000.

The 25-year-old man received a felony charge for having cannabis in his apartment exceeding 5,000 grams. In addition, he received two charges for having a controlled substance in his custody. According to a news article, he had a scheduled date for bond court.

All too often, Chicago residents get into trouble with the law and do not have the knowledge necessary to fully and adequately protect themselves. If convicted, this young Chicago man faces serious penalties for his drug possession charges. However, unless a jury can determine that he is indeed guilty of these drug possession charges, he remains innocent and has a right to a fair trial. He, as any other person charged with drug possession, would do well to have a criminal defense that can adequately assess the charges, possible penalties and evidence in order to obtain the best possible outcome from this situation.
